Read Across America
Read Across America is a joyful week-long celebration that inspires a lifelong love of reading across our school community. We bring books to life with themed days, engaging activities, and community connection, all designed to make reading fun for students of all ages!
What Read Across America Celebrates
Originally created to encourage children to read and celebrate literacy, Read Across America has grown into a nationwide event recognizing the joy of books and the power of reading to spark imagination and learning. Join us as we celebrate diverse stories, authors, and readers throughout our school!
What to Expect:
Dress-Up Days: Each day will have a fun reading-themed to encourage participation and school spirit.
Parent/Guardian Volunteers: Parents and caregivers are invited to sign up to read with students, fostering community involvement and encouraging young readers.
Reading Challenges: Engaging challenges to motivate students to read more throughout the week.
School Decorations: Themed decorations will brighten the school and create a festive reading environment.
Why Read Across America Matters
Read Across America isn’t just about one week, it’s about encouraging students to discover the joy of reading, build confidence with books, and connect with stories that reflect their worlds and interests. Strong reading habits support academic success and help children unlock new ideas, perspectives, and possibilities throughout life.
