Veterans Day Celebration
Each year, the PTA proudly hosts a Veterans Day Celebration to honor the veterans and active-duty military members connected to our school community. Held in November, this meaningful event brings together students, staff, and families to express gratitude and respect.
Event Overview:
Purpose: To publicly recognize and thank military members for their service and provide a welcoming space for our school community to honor them together.
Who’s Invited: Veterans and active military members connected to our students, along with their families
What to Expect:
A school-wide assembly in the morning, where honored guests are invited to the front to be recognized
A short speech and student acknowledgments
Each military guest has the opportunity to introduce themselves
After the assembly, guests and their families are invited to a breakfast in the multipurpose room
Breakfast Details:
The breakfast is a potluck provided by school families.
A SignUpGenius will be shared for families to sign up to donate items, whether or not they attend.
To make this event a success, we’re looking for dedicated volunteers.
Here’s what we’re hoping to offer with your support:
*Event setup and decorations to create a patriotic and respectful atmosphere
*Recruiting special guests (e.g., singers for the national anthem, musicians like bagpipers, or individuals to perform a flag-folding ceremony)
*Connecting with local military groups or veteran organizations to invite honored guests or secure additional support
*Helping during the event with greeting, serving, and cleanup
*Acquiring food donations from local businesses to make the breakfast a success
*Coordinating with teachers to ensure they know which students will arrive to class late after the breakfast
Let’s come together to honor the brave individuals who serve and have served our country. Your time and contributions help make this a heartfelt and memorable tradition for our school.
