Tier 1 Volunteer
Required when a volunteer may have unsupervised contact with students.

Complete the CUSD Tier 1 Volunteer Application.Complete Live Scan
Fingerprint clearance is required.*Contact the Viejo Front Office for the required Live Scan form. Fingerprinting is free for Viejo parents ONLY.Complete Annual Training
Complete the ASCIP Mandated Reporter course by September 30, 2026.Confirm your clearance
After completing all requirements, check directly with the Viejo Front Office to confirm that you are fully cleared before volunteering.
Examples may include: Field-trip chaperones or drivers, tutors, lunch volunteers and other roles involving possible unsupervised contact with students.

SUPERVISED VOLUNTEERING
Tier 2 Volunteer
For volunteers who will always remain under the supervision of school staff.

Complete the CUSD Tier 2 Volunteer Application.Allow time for screening
Tier 2 volunteers are checked against the state registry. Please allow up to five business days.Confirm your clearance
Contact the Viejo Front Office before volunteering.
Examples may include: classroom help, campus events and other activities where staff members are present.
Already fingerprinted through CUSD?
You do not need to be fingerprinted again! However, all current Tier 1 volunteers must register through ASCIP & complete Mandated Reporter Training every school year.
Deadline for the 2026–27 school year: September 30, 2026.
*Tier 1 volunteers who do not complete the course by September 30 will have their Tier 1 status suspended until the training requirement is completed.
